How many branches of LIC are there?


According to LIC of India website,  today LIC functions with 2048 fully computerized branch offices, 113 divisional offices, 8 zonal offices, 1381 satallite offices and the Corporate office. LIC’s Wide Area Network covers 113divisional offices and connects all the branches through a Metro Area Network.

LIC has tied up with some Banks and Service providers to offer on-line premium collection facility in selected cities. LIC’s ECS and ATM premium payment facility is an addition to customer convenience. Apart from on-line Kiosks and IVRS, Info Centres have been commissioned at Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, New Delhi, Pune and many other cities.

With a vision of providing easy access to its policyholders, LIC has launched its SATELLITE SAMPARK offices. The satellite offices are smaller, leaner and closer to the customer. The digitalized records of the satellite offices will facilitate anywhere servicing and many other conveniences in the future. 



Does LIC work on Saturdays?


LIC of India branch offices are closed on second and fourth Saturdays of every month. At the same time lic premium payment can be done at LIC premium collection centres across the country. Some of the premium collection centres are open on Sundays only.

Can I pay LIC premium by cash?

 
LIC policy premiums can be paid by cash up to Rs. 49,999/- at LIC cash counters and authorised payment collection centres all over the country. Rs. 50,000 and more than that has to be paid by Bank cheque or demand draft only supported with PAN card copy. 
 

Can I surrender LIC policy online?

 
Insurance policies are to be surrendered at the same branch of issuance. Other branch may help you get all details about the policy but surrender, loan can be done at the particular branch only. Applying for loan under a policy or surrendering can be done by the policy holder if agent is not available for help.
